My respect for actress Keke Palmer just sky rocketed after reading these inspiring comments she made on Twitter recently. She is only 20, and as well as landing a leading role in the TLC Movie Keke Palmer has spoken out about sex in relationships, love and connections. I love this and love what she says. I find myself going through the same situation. Having been in a relationship for 8 years, and now newly single I find that guys are mainly interested in sex as well as talking about it continutely or diverting to it. I don't mind that but initially you have to lead with intellect to impress me. At this time in my life I crave an abundance of mental stimulation and respect more than ever before, someone that is on my level spiritually and intellectually, has a long term dream or goal that they are steadily working towards like me, perhaps a single parent already and humble humble humble. And of course the natural must-have credentials, above 6"3, tall, muscular, killa smile, gorgeous eyes, super athletic physique and uhh yea drop dead, have-to-stop-and-look-again he was so fine kinda guy. Not asking much no? Lol. Here's what Keke says..
People make it impossible to make real connections because they are too focused on getting to the sex! I mean, how can you expect to get to level ten when you haven’t passed steps 1-9. We all have to be careful of the energy we let into our bodies. Why am I gonna have sex with you to find OUT if you can love me down the line? Shouldn’t you love me before we get there? Things happen, yes, but it’d be best to wait it out. Allow for a true connection to be made without physical intrusions.
I’m out here trying to make REAL connections. My flesh will never be able to compare to what is in the HEART. It’s really disappointing though.
