19 year old Amber Simone Chinn is amazing. This has made my Friday.. nah my week. So emotional after reading this story and listening to her sing. Amber was told that she wouldn’t be able to breathe on her own, but is now breathing, speaking and singing. How bout that you dumb ass Doctors?! Omg.
Amber Simone was born with a rare condition known as Left Craniosynostosis– a defect in which the joints between the skull bones close prematurely. It was noted that she was not expected to be able to breathe on her own, or speak after undergoing a life changing operation at just 6 months old. Doctors also informed her parents that she had a low chance of a full recovery and an even lesser chance of being able to properly use her airway without undergoing a tracheotomy.
Years later and Amber is shining, literally, after a video of her singing Jhene Aiko’s ‘The Worst' went viral. She has written her own words to the song and has gained an astonishing but well deserved 2 million views since it was uploaded to Facebook and YouTube a few weeks ago. Amber sings the 2013 hit song poolside at her friend's graduation party writing the track for women empowerment and finding the courage and will to walk away from domestic abuse. #Amazing.
