Kim Kardashian co-hosted Live with Kelly in New York City earlier this morning on the east coast, and finally got the opportunity to speak out about her 72 day marriage. Kim revealed that she was taken aback by the negative response to her divorce from NBA star Kris Humphries. She told viewers that 'It's been a hard couple of months.' She also hit back against the numerous claims that the wedding was a publicity stunt.

'If you really think about it, if this was a business decision and I really made all that money that everyone was claiming that we made off this wedding, and if the wedding was fake and just for TV, I'm a smart businesswoman, I would have stayed married longer. I really didn't think following my heart would create this much backlash.' She assured the public that she 'tried everything' to make the relationship work, 'I want that forever love, and if I feel in my heart this isn't right, then why wait years to have the same results?'

Kim also revealed that after the devastating split, she packed 'two pairs of sweatpants and a pair of pyjamas' and moved back in with her mother and manager, Kris Jenner, to do 'some soul searching.' The 'hopeless romantic' hasn't give up on love and why should she? 'I think I just learned that I need to rewrite my fairytale.'
