So far the Grammy gossip this year surrounds Lady Gaga's theatrical red carpet enterance to the prestigious ceremony in a giant egg-shaped pod! She's done it again - so typically her, so unique, eye catching, and interesting - Lady Gaga and Country group trio Lady Antebellm were amongst some of the main winners of the show at last nights Grammys. Gaga scooped up three awards including Best Pop Vocal Album for 'The Fame Monster,' and during her acceptance speech Gaga gave recognition to the legendary singer Whitney Houston - gotta love it!
'I wanted to thank Whitney, because when I wrote 'Born this Way', I imagined she was singing it, because I wasn't secure enough in myself to imagine I was a superstar. So, Whitney, I imagined you were singing born this way when I wrote it.'
Held in Los Angeles' Staples Center, the lavish ceremony opened with a stunning tribute to Aretha Franklin, now 68 years old - who is sadly currently suffering from pancreatic cancer. she thanked the singers Christina Aguilera, Florence Welch, Jennifer Hudson, Martina McBride andYolanda Adams via video link.
'I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be with you this evening. Thank you to all of you who took the time to send me get well cards and flowers, beautiful flowers, and most importantly, your prayers,' Aretha commented.
Jay-Z also took home two Grammys for hit duet single Empire State of Moin featuring Alicia Keys.
Other winners included, Usher for Best Contemporary R&B Album, and John Legend for Best R&B Album.
