New music: I want to make R&B with a touch of pop, rather than pop with a touch of R&B. It’ll be a little more urban, something my fellow 18-year-olds are going to want to bump to in their cars rather than feel like they have to turn it down as soon as someone else gets in. I want them to be able to be like, ‘Yo, I’m listening to Zendaya!’
Trevor Jackson: My best guy friend is Trevor Jackson. We met when we were 12 years old working on a Sears commercial. Everyone likes to make a bigger deal of what it is, but he’s my best friend and we’re always together. He knows what I’m going through. He’s not my boyfriend, but who knows what could happen in the future.
Confidence: I didn’t break out of my shell for a while. I’m still not all the way out of my shell, I don’t think. I feel like I’ll always be a little shy.
