Ray J devastated about Whitney Houston

Brandy & brother Ray J were seen pictured this past Saturday at Ne-Yo's 3rd Annual Midnight Brunch after news broke of Whitney Houston's passing. Brandy was there to celebrate her 33rd birthday.
Whitney & Ray J had a great friendship and were spotted a week or so ago having dinner in Los Angeles. Ray J asked about his bond with Whitney in a recent interview with The Insider whilst promoting his new book, which you can see tweets of on his Twitter.

He said, 'You know, they blow this thing out of proportion. I mean, that’s my friend. I’ve been knowing her for years and years and years, and she’s a friend of the family. I have a lot of love for her and I have a lot of respect for her. Our friendship is something that people might not understand, maybe because of the age difference, but we’ve always just been friends. We hug, we laugh, we go out to dinner. We talk about, you know, different things in our lives and she’s a cool person.'

When asked if he was dating Whitney Ray J responded, 'We’ve always kept our relationship as private as we could, but when we go out, she’s such an icon, it reaches the masses. But, for the most part, we’ve always been friends and we’ve kept everything hush-hush and just quiet and we really don’t focus on that.'

As yet, Ray J is yet to comment on Houston’s death, with his Twitter account silent. His latest tweet is a Happy Birthday message to his sister Brandy, whose birthday was February 11th, the same day Whitney passed away at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Ray J was seen assisting Clive Davis with the Grammys the day before.

Ray J was at home Saturday when he found out about Whitney Houston and immediately rushed to the Beverly Hilton hotel, only to be turned away by law enforcement who wouldn’t let him enter her room. A clearly distraught and tearful Ray J was briefly seen inside the hotel’s lobby Sunday morning surrounded by a group of friends. He repeated multiple times, 'Whitney dead,' as a friend grabbed him by the shoulders. 'Whitney dead.' We all gotta live with that.' His companions pleaded with him to calm down, and a guest services clerk seemed at a loss as Ray J made demands of the hotel’s employees.

He went on to talk about 'missed calls' from Whitney. 'We all gotta live with that.' Ray J was quiet but stern as he resisted his companions, dismissing their pleas with profanity. Ray J and his entourage left the lobby and on being asked to comment one of his companions responded - Nothing right now. Sources have reportedly told Showbiz website TMZ that Ray J, like many, is completely crushed over Whitney’s sudden passing :(

We send all our love & prayers to the Houston family, including Bobbi Kristina who has been released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA following a panic attack after losing her mother. So sad and so heartbreaking. Also drop Ray J a tweet to cheer him up on Twitter @rayj and remember Whitney Houston for being one of the most amazing female singers in the world. We love you so much Whitney xxx
