Cheryl Cole's dropped from X Factor US judging panel

It has been reported that Cheryl Cole is to be replaced as a judge on the American X Factor with former Pussycat Dolls star Nicole Scherzinger. Rumours suggest that Cheryl failed to connect with fellow judge Paula Abdul, however she strongly denies this. The producers of the show were said to be 'not thrilled with the chemistry' on the panel. American sources state that the singer was said to be distraught today after learning of the decision. It means she has been sacked even before the show is aired.

An additional source of the show claimed that, 'She may be Britain's sweetheart but nobody knows her here.' Senior executives at the Fox network have concluded that unfortunately Cheryl Cole was the weak link in the judging line-up after her appearance in front of a Los Angeles audience.

The final decision ultimately lies with Fox executives. It has not been officially announced why Cheryl has been axed, but it is possible that the US public would have difficulty understanding her Geordie accent :(

Friends of Cheryl said that she wanted to quit as she was feeling homesick - the singer has put her musical career on temporary hold while she relocated to the US. Simon finalised a £1.2 million contract although many do no know of Cheryl Cole in America, but he was confident that the audiences would warm to her. Producers of the show, at this point insisted on a get-out clause so she could be dropped if she did not connect with the audiences. At this stage rumours suggest that she may decide in completely ending any association with the X Factor.
